DAY TRIPPER
(A Trip to Liverpool, 5 March 2003)

We've been waiting for this trip for weeks. Not only because it's quite cheap, 5 quid for return ticket, but also most of the gang were coming. Dunya, Sheetal, Bona, Ida, Raine, Manish, Suresh, Tiago, Erik, and I. Jerusa couldn't make it, because she was sick.

The bus moved at around 9.30, and we arrived around 11. Hoping off the bus in Albert Dock, we passed through the Beatles Story Museum and went straight to Tate Gallery, the British modern art gallery. It's quite an interesting place, lots of weird-artistic stuffs are displayed there. After spending half an hour wandering around there, we moved to the city centre for lunch. We split into 2 groups; Ida, Tiago n Erik went to vegan cafe, while the rest went to the food court in St. James Market.

After lunch, we were wandering around the market to see some stuffs. After awhile, I got bored, because the girls wanted to do some shopping. I preferred to walk alone. Cavern Walks seemed a lot more interesting for me. Then I walked through that historical passage, a narrow gloomy alley. The Cavern Club is located there, where it all began. Across the club, we can see Liverpool Hall of Fame, where some most famous records from musicians are displayed. Also, we’ll see the fab-four bench under the hall of fame… interesting! At the end of the alley, we’ll find a small shop that sells a quite complete Beatles stuff. Complete but rather expensive :)

Now it’s time to go back to the meeting point, the horse statue. Nobody’s there yet, but Tiago. Then we decided to go to record store for a quick shopping. By the time we’re back, everybody was there. Afterwards, we’re off to Chinatown for groceries.

That’s the last object of our trip, then we walked back to Albert Dock, where the bus was waiting. Liverpool is nice place to visit. We’re planning to go back there in summer, where the weather is nicer. Also, I still want to come to the Beatles Story Museum, it’s a-must-see place! ftd!
